April & May 2012 Tours

April 4 - Sarah Lawrence College, NY
April 24 - Banning High School, Wilmington, Los Angeles

I presented excerpts of Universal Self to 6 classes at Banning High School in Wilmington, Los Angeles. Right on Mr. Sam Smith and other staff at the school for opening your classes to me. I look forward to performing the full length version of Universal Self to the entire school in the near future!

April 24 - Da Poetry Lounge, West Hollywood, Los Angeles

Chilling with Dante Basco. Keeping it Universal!

April 27 - UC Santa Cruz, SOAR Alumni Reunion
"Kilusan. Thank you so much for coming to the Alumni Dinner and writing a poem just for the occasion. Amazing! Many students have mentioned it over the past few days. You connected with everyone, across the years. Thank you again!"
Sayo Fujioka, UCSC (SOAR DIRECTOR)

April 28 - San Francisco War Memorial

Universal Self at the SF War Memorial. I am blessed to have 4 generations of my family supporting my artistic movements to Broadway Theaters! Produced by Renaissance Parents For Success - A San Francisco based community based organization - and several Veteran groups based in the SF War Memorial (Post 198 & Bataan Post 600). It was a great opportunity to build with a new audience base. I was reminded that Veterans have a very unique perspective within American society, at least those that understand how the American government are not taking care of minority or urban communities. It was a blessing to receive a standing ovation at the end from people who do so much for the good of the larger community.

May 4, 5, 6 - Nuyorican Poets Cafe, New York City

Grammy award winning singer and songwriter Chrisette Michele came to watch "Toy Soldierz" at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe - a multi media theater production that ran for two weeks and I was blessed to help co-produce. We brought 10 Bay Area Artists across the country to share the universal messages of healing and unity in New York City.

May 11, 12, 13 - Nuyorican Poets Cafe, New York City

May 26 - Mars Bar, Detroit, Michigan

Every great tour needs a reliable driver and yes, I was blessed to be the driver for the Detroit Expansion Tour.  A note to brothers in relationships with artists, support your partner by any means necessary.  Simultaneously, I was able to get into the Electronic Music Festival for free as a result of the good energy I put out into the universe.  I danced my way throughout the festival and handed out flyers for the Detroit Expansion Tour.  Keeping it Universal means performing, educating, organizing and showing unconditional love/support to loved ones!
